Industry Leading Pesticide Reduction Program
 
DECEMBER 17, 2008-- Sysco Corporation (NYSE: SYY) announced today that it has been awarded a prestigious Champions award from the Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program (PESP) of the United States Environmental Protection Agency. PESP is a voluntary partnership which focuses on reducing the use of pesticides and reducing the risks to humans and the environment. More than 70 suppliers, representing 160 produce processing facilities and 4,179 growers tending more than 600,000 acres are participating in Sysco's integrated pest management (IPM) program.

Chicken, Spinach & Goat Cheese Pillows

Ingredients

·   2 sheets SYSCO Classic puff pastry, thawed
·   2 oz. goat cheese
·   2 oz. SYSCO Wholesome Farm cream cheese
·   2 c. SYSCO Natural fresh spinach, chopped
·   1 T. SYSCO Natural shallots, minced
·   1 clove SYSCO Natural garlic, minced
·   2 T. SYSCO Imperial butter
·   1 T. dry white wine
·   3 SYSCO Supreme chicken breasts, 5 oz. skinless and boneless
·   2 T. SYSCO Imperial butter, melted
·   SYSCO Imperial/McCormick salt and pepper to taste



 Preparation
Grill chicken and slice each breast into 16 pieces. Pre-heat oven to 400°F. Cut puff pastry into 2-inch squares. Combine goat cheese and cream cheese. Sauté shallots and garlic in butter until tender. Add spinach and wine. Stir and simmer until liquid is reduced. Spread 1/2 t. goat cheese spread on each pastry square. Top with 1/2 t. spinach filling. Place chicken bit in center. Gather pastry at corners and pinch closed. Turn pillow smooth side up on lined sheet pan 2 inches apart. Brush with melted butter. Bake approximately 15 minutes until golden brown.
